Ms. Anna Papas, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Papas began her career in Killeen, Texas in 1994 as a middle school math teacher because she believed that she could make a difference in the lives of students. Mrs. Papas obtained her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Mississippi University for Women in 1994, her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at George Mason University in 2007, and her second Master of Education in Educational Leadership at William and Mary College in 2021. As part of a military family, she has worked as a middle school teacher in Killeen, Texas and Fairfax County before moving to Stafford in 2000. When Mrs. Papas first moved to Stafford, she taught mathematics at Colonial Forge High school for 11 years and achieved National Board Certification in Adolescent/Young Adult Mathematics, which she held from 2002-2022.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Papas has advocated that student achievement occurs best when families, students and teachers work together as a team. Aiming to make a larger impact, Mrs. Papas left Colonial Forge to serve two years as the SCPS Secondary Mathematics Coordinator at Central Office. However, she found her heart and passion was to work directly with students and parents, building lasting relationships that ensures the continued education of students. Mrs. Papas returned to the middle school classroom in 2013. She arrived at HH Poole Middle School in 2014 and served as a classroom teacher and then as the math specialist. She has over 20 years of service in Stafford County! She is excited to provide her experience and step into a role where she can build capacity in teachers and facilitate student learning by building and empowering cooperative partnerships with families.
